The second largest hydrogen refueling station in our country was inaugurated. It is located in Mestre, in the Municipality of Venice. The event was attended by the mayor Luigi Brugnaro, the CEO of Toyota Italia Luigi Ksawery Luca and Giuseppe Ricci, general manager of ENI’s Energy Evolution division.

The hydrogen refueling system is located inside the ENI Station of the San Giuliano area , a few kilometers from the homonymous park, one of the largest in Europe, and from the direct access to the Venice lagoon used by the clubs. sails of the territory. In addition to the hydrogen refueling system, the station already housed a Fast column for charging the EVs and several traditional petrol and diesel pumps.

It is the second plant of this type built in Italy, the first is located in Bolzano. The new system testifies once again to the commitment of the Municipality of Venice in favor of new generation mobility. The Municipality has for several years entered into a strategic partnership with Toyota – which, among other things, is present with its full hybrid car sharing service Yuko – and has purchased 90 hydrogen buses, which join the active electric bus fleet. in the Lido, the island that hosts the Film Festival every year.

ENI has undertaken to build some facilities for the production of hydrogen within the industrial area of ​​Marghera. In short, the opening of the refueling plant is part of a broader strategy, which sees Venice as a strategic point for the relaunch of sustainable mobility. “We want to be the world capital of sustainability,” said Mayor Brugnaro not by chance .
