Amazon has announced the closure of three services aimed at the Indian market. These are platforms exclusive to India and unpublished in Italy.

In just 48 hours, Amazon India announced the closure of three services. From the food delivery platform to the online academy for high school students: the giant is preparing to reduce the number of resources invested in India.

Amazon Food is a food delivery platform conceptually similar to services such as Just Eat, Deliveroo, and Glovo. It will close from November 25th. Amazon Academy is a site dedicated to online teaching, it will be closed in August 2023. Amazon will refund student subscriptions. Amazon Distribution , the wholesale sales service dedicated to merchants and small neighborhood shops, is also closing: the closure will take place progressively and in stages.

The news comes shortly after the announcement of a redundancy plan which, globally, should involve 10,000 employees of the corporate division. Recently, Amazon’s country manager hinted that Italy too could soon be hit by a redundancy plan — we talked about it here .
