Beyond Good & Evil 2 overtook Duke Nukem Forever in development time

Beyond Good & Evil is a cult action game that was released back in 2003. It had to play journalist Jade, who saves the planet from tyranny. The game received a huge number of awards and became a truly cult in narrow circles, but did not receive commercial success.

Five years later, Ubisoft released the first trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2 on May 28, 2008. It featured familiar characters, but then the development stopped, the game had problems, and the announcement of the new version happened only in 2017.

Twitter user Brendan Sinclair felt that Beyond Good & Evil 2 was now the game that had overtaken Duke Nukem Forver in development time. Previously, the not-so-successful shooter about the great Duke was considered the game that was made the most time.

He wrote that 5156 days have passed since the announcement and release of Duke Nukem Forver, and Beyond Good & Evil 2 has now overtaken this figure – it has 5240 days. And how many days remain before the release is unknown.

Probably, the title has every chance of becoming the game that has been in development for the longest time. In first place is Metroid Dread – it has been in development for 16 years.
