US oil rig count drops

The number of oil rigs in the US has decreased by 5 this week.

According to weekly data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes, the number of oil rigs in the country decreased by 5 to 620 during the week of December 10 – December 16, compared to the previous week.

The number of oil drilling rigs in the USA has increased by 145 in the last year.

Brent oil barrel, which closed Thursday at $81.21, ended Friday at $79.04.

West Texas (WTI) type crude oil closed Friday at $74.45 a barrel. WTI-type crude oil finished at $76.25 on Thursday.
