OnePlus Nord: enough mid-range, everything is focused on low-end smartphones. Brand repositioning in sight?

According to some rumors, OnePlus would have chosen to completely reposition the ‘North’ brand. The Chinese company would like to use the blue brand exclusively for entry-level products, putting – at least temporarily – the launch of new mid-range phones on standby.

This theory has been relaunched by the GadgetGang website, which starts from a fact: it seems that the launch of the OnePlus Nord 3 has been canceled . We currently have no information on its possible launch.

The next smartphone in the Nord line will be the OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G , which will take the place of the Nord CE 2 5G currently on the market. This is a low-end phone with an affordable price and a decent, but not particularly sophisticated spec sheet.

According to rumors, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G will be released during the first quarter of 2023, possibly by the end of March. It seems almost certain that OnePlus will not present other products of the Northern line in the meantime, which, in fact, suggests that the Chinese brand has completely changed its strategy. Recall that the brand was born with the OnePlus Nord, a mid-range phone born with the promise of offering a high-level technical data sheet at a price of less than 400 €.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G, on the other hand, does not have the vocation to offer an uncompromising technical data sheet. It will mount a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC flanked by 8GB of RAM. The phone will be equipped with a 6.7 ″ IPS LCD panel, with FullHD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. According to GadgetGang it would be an LCD panel, not an AMOLED.
