USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier of the US Navy is on its way to Turkey

Spokesman of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, stated that the USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean was moving towards Turkey in order to meet Turkey’s possible additional support requests after the earthquake disaster.

Earthquake with epicenter in KahramanmaraşAfter the disaster, the USA continues to support Turkey. US Department of Defense (Pentagon) Spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder offered his condolences for those who lost their lives due to earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, using the expressions “We all watch with great sadness the terrible impact of the deadly earthquakes that took place in Turkey.” Ryder stated that US Secretary of State Lloyd Austin had a phone call with Defense Minister Hulusi Akar last Monday, and that Minister Austin offered the US support to Turkey in the meeting, and that the US continued to provide support according to Turkey’s needs. He said he promised he would. Ryder, who explained that, upon the call of Turkey, yesterday, the US forces at Incirlik Air Base started to move the first aid teams to the earthquake-affected areas.

Stating That The US European Forces Command (EUCOM) has sent a team to support the USAID disaster relief team, Ryder announced that the said team is expected to be in Turkey tomorrow. Expressing that EUCOM is actively working to quickly respond to new requests for support from Turkey, Ryder said, “We offer our condolences again and we will stand by our ally Turkey as it tries to recover from this terrible disaster.”

Ryder also stated that the USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean is heading towards Turkey to meet Turkey’s possible additional support requests, and that they are prepared to respond to Turkey’s requests for assistance as quickly as possible.
