According to a report by DigiTimes, a well-known Taiwanese publication, Apple could launch a new MacBook Air equipped with a 3nm chip in the second half of 2023. The chip in question is probably Apple’s upcoming M3 chip, which will offer faster performance and a more energy efficient than Apple’s current 5nm chips.

According to DigiTimes in 2023 a new, cheaper MacBook Air will be presented with the new and awaited M3 SoC.

The report doesn’t provide further details on the MacBook Air or a more specific launch window. Also according to DigiTimes, the next generation MacBook Air could be cheaper than the one currently on the market.

It is expected to be updated in the second half of 2023, despite the choice to equip it with a 3nm processor. However, it should be noted that the DigiTimes editorial team had stated that the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips would be “delayed” beyond early 2023, which turned out to be false. The next generation MacBook Pros featuring the M2 Pro and M2 Max were unveiled this week. Yesterday Apple also presented the second generation of the HomePod, its powerful smart speaker dedicated to audiophiles: unlike the first generation, it will also arrive in Italy for the first time.
