The autumn equinox will end the summer with particular astronomical events

On September 26, Jupiter will be in opposition to the sun and will therefore be in the most optimal conditions to be observed, thus reaching the minimum distance from Earth and its maximum brightness for this year. The planet will be visible just after sunset in the Southeast, and then disappear in the Southwest at the first light of dawn .

Then there is Saturn which was in opposition last August 14th but will still be visible for most of the night. Unlike Neptune which, despite being in opposition on September 16, it will be impossible to see it with the naked eye because it is not very bright. The latter, however, on the evening of September 14 will be hidden by the moon for about an hour starting at 11:08 pm Italian time.

The September sky will still allow us to observe some of the constellations that could be observed this summer even if they will be more westward. Furthermore, in the middle of the month it will be possible to observe the transit of the International Space Station again.
