A large number of “secret documents” were found in the home of former US President Donald Trump. Trump is being investigated for allegedly violating the Espionage Act.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) seized more than 20 boxes, some of which were labeled top secret, during a search of former US President Donald Trump ‘S Mansion In Florida. FBI agents searching Trump’s Florida home on Monday found a total of 11 sets of Classified Documents , Some Of Which Were Marked As Top Secret.revealed that in addition to the seizure, some items were related to defense information. According to sources, out of 11 separate sets of classified documents, 4 were marked as top secret and 3 were marked as confidential. According to a search warrant conducted by FBI agents at Trump’s home, Trump is under criminal investigation for additional statutes of obstruction of justice and destruction of federal government records that he may have violated the Espionage Act. The inventory of documents recovered from Trump’s estate included a series of photographs and handwritten notes, as well as materials related to French President Emmnuel Macron.
“A RISK TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY”
Adam Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement regarding the classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago, “If the reports are true and are among those documents, some of the highest level of classified information our government has is why this department and the FBI are in such a position. “It will explain a lot about what he’s taken,” he said. “It appears that the FBI has tried to take these documents to a safe place before, but Trump has not fully cooperated. It is a daily risk to our national security that information belonging to such a classification is found in an unsafe place,” Schiff said.
Earlier this week, the FBI raided Trump’s property in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, saying the search warrant included violations of the Espionage Act. The search warrant, issued by US Magistrate Bruce Reinhart and endorsed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, authorized FBI agents to seize materials that could constitute evidence of violations of the Espionage Act and the Blocking Act. In a statement he made yesterday, Trump said that he would not oppose the publication of the documents and said, “I will not oppose the publication of the documents. “I’m going one step further by encouraging the immediate publication of these documents,” he said.
The Florida judge, on the other hand, lifted the search warrant used in Trump’s home raid.
“Federal law currently prevents me from giving more details about the basis of the search. But one thing I want you to know is, “I personally approve of the decision to issue a search warrant on this matter. The Department does not take such a decision easily.”
