After following the panorama of the best smartphones month by month for a year with updated rankings and reviews, even at the end of 2022 a final point on the 10 best products that have seen the light of day in the last 12 months could not be missing. What concluded was a difficult year for the sector: after a steady and robust growth, device sales have cooled off, with a decline of almost 10%. However, this slowdown has not affected the plans of the companies which, in keeping with their roadmaps, have punctually launched all the envisaged models.
We have tried all the gadgets that follow, and our ranking represents a reliable history of what happened in the 365 days of the year that is about to end. Starting from the first in the standings and going down to tenth place, the smartphones that entered our top ten – one for each brand – represent representative devices in terms of technical characteristics, design, user experience and innovation .

It was the reference product for this 2022 , a top-of-the-range smartphone that fully embodied the expectations of the market and consumers. The flagship device of the Korean company has in fact pleasantly surprised everyone by recovering the beloved S Pen and integrating it into the body as was the case with the Samsung Note, but it has also made an excellent photographic department available to users , not only with the main camera but also with the optical zoom up to 10X. Excellent screen and good autonomy, but always selective price.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro
The latest iPhone remains the object of desire and the Pro model has everything it takes to satisfy even the most demanding users. From an aesthetic point of view, nothing has changed compared to the iPhone 13 but Apple has put its hand on some important elements such as the new 48 megapixel main camera with a 65% larger sensor, the cinema mode finally at 24 frames per second and the inevitable improvement of the processor, faster but above all less energy intensive. It is probably the most surprising outsider on the Italian market, a smartphone that has unjustly gone little in the spotlight. A quality product with all the essentials without flaws , especially the photographic department which also boasts a valid collaboration with Zeiss. The large and bright screen, the support of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the ip68 certification and the 80W fast charging make it even more substantial. Something better could instead be done on the autonomy, on the software and on the official selling price.

The long tradition of a quality product, a little out of the usual market names, has been confirmed again this year with the arrival of the latest model from the Taiwanese company. The idea of offering a true top of the range but with small dimensions (5.9 inches) was a winning choice, finding the consensus of many consumers usually forced to make some compromises. The Zenfone 9 performs well in every situation and is also liked by the good price-performance ratio and the presence of the audio jack.

Xiaomi’s flagship product released in the first months of the year remains a smartphone capable of fully satisfying the needs of those looking for a substantial model with some undeniable pluses . The 12-bit ltpo Amoled display and the robust photographic department which for the first time has as many as 3 50-megapixel sensors are also beautiful and bright. The price continues to be somewhat of its main limit.

A few months ago we called it a real “best buy” and in fact in its price range it has almost no rivals . The Chinese company has worked adequately to find the balance between performance, functionality and design by creating a light, well-assembled smartphone with rather pop Emerald Green and Crystal Silver colors. The touch given by the Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa inspired by the tactile sensation of the paper, in fact, restores an excellent feeling with this product. But it is not dissatisfied even in the essential elements from the display to the autonomy. Now with a lowered price it is even more inviting.
