Tourism income consists of the months of April, May and June II. increased by 190.2% in the quarter compared to the same quarter of the previous year and became 8 billion 717 million 103 thousand Dollars . 83.8% of tourism income (excluding mobile phone roaming and marina service expenditures) was obtained from foreign visitors and 16.2% from citizen visitors residing abroad.
Visitors organize their trips with a personal or package tour. Personal expenditures constituted 6 billion 273 million 64 thousand dollars of the expenditures made in this quarter, and package tour expenditures constituted 2 billion 444 million 39 thousand dollars.
All types of spending increased in this quarter compared to the same quarter last year. While spending on sports, education and culture increased by 456.1 percent, package tour expenses (the remaining share for our country) increased by 331.3 percent and accommodation expenses increased by 185.6%.
AVERAGE EXPENDITURE WAS 78 DOLLARS BY NIGHT
In this quarter, the average nightly expenditure of foreigners staying overnight was 81 USD, and the average nightly expenditure of citizens residing abroad was 65 USD.
NUMBER OF VISITORS INCREASED by 193.6% COMPARED TO THE SAME QUARTER OF THE LAST YEAR
Number of visitors leaving our country in 2022 II. increased by 193.6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year and became 11 million 939 thousand 131 people. 87% of these were foreigners with 10 million 382 thousand 68 people, and 13% of them were citizens residing abroad with 1 million 557 thousand 63 people.
IN THIS QUARTER, FOREIGN VISITORS VISITED OUR COUNTRY MOSTLY WITH THE PURPOSE OF “TRAINING, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES” WITH 70.4%
“Visiting relatives and friends” took the second place with 14.8%, and “shopping” took the third place with 6.7%. Citizens residing abroad, on the other hand, came to our country mostly for the purpose of “visiting relatives and friends” with 57.9%.
TOURISM EXPENDITURE INCREASED BY 215.8 % COMPARED TO THE SAME QUARTER OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR
. Tourism expenditure, which consists of the expenditures of our citizens residing in the country and visiting other countries, increased by 215.8 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year and reached 1 billion 57 million 787 thousand dollars. 1 billion 11 million 504 thousand dollars of this was personal and 46 million 283 thousand dollars was package tour expenses.
The number of citizens visiting abroad increased by 321.6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year and reached 1 million 666 thousand 135 people. Their average expenditure per person was $635.
