Pentiment returns to show itself in a new video diary published by Obsidian entirely dedicated to the story , mechanics and visual style of the game. In the video, which you find below, the game director Josh Sawyer, the creative director Hannah Kennedy and many other personalities who contributed to the creation of the game, tell what are the characteristics and peculiarities of this intriguing investigative adventure set in the Upper Bavaria of XVI century.

The film also focuses in particular on the style chosen to stage this fascinating investigative adventure: the game is presented as an interactive work reconstructed in the style of illuminated manuscripts and woodblock prints of medieval Europe. Among the main sources of inspiration, the team also cites ” The Nuremberg Chronicles “, the famous compilation work by Hartmann Schedel written in Latin in 1493, in which the colors, shapes and designs evoke the style of the characters and historical imagery recreated by Obsidian.

Announced during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase with a trailer,  Pentiment  is Obsidian’s new investigative RPG. The protagonist is a skilled illuminator who, over a period of twenty-five years, finds himself involved in a series of murders at the Kiersau abbey. The  choices he makes will have an impact on the plot, on the community and every decision he makes will have lasting consequences that will lead him to the center of a dark conspiracy.

Pentiment will be available starting November 15, 2022 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S, with launch on day one within Xbox Game Pass.
