Register of Oppositions: in less than 24 hours over 205 thousand subscriptions, and this is just the beginning

In less than 24 hours, the Register of Oppositions has already registered over 205 thousand subscriptions, further proof of the exasperation now at very high levels of consumers towards aggressive telemarketing .

Dozens of phone calls, every day. And then here is that by answering the phone on the other side of the ‘handset’ you are greeted by a croaking robotic voice intent on selling you – if all goes well – yet another gas and electricity contract, or – if it goes wrong – some blatant scam on the trading. It is not surprising that over 200,000 Italians welcomed the initiative of the Italian government , in the hope of being protected – once and for all – from the harassment of call centers. But will it be enough? Unfortunately, it is anything but certain .

The data on the first adhesions were communicated by the Ministry of Economic Development today. The Ministry limited itself to communicating the adhesions that resulted at 17:30 yesterday. In the meantime, membership has most likely increased and this is only the beginning. The government has yet to start advertising the portal.

Of these 205 thousand subscriptions, 166 thousand come from the website, 34 thousand from the toll-free number and then the remainder arrived via email.

Yesterday, in the face of strong consumer interest, the site prepared by the ministry was slow and difficult to navigate. As we write this news, it seems that the problems have been solved: now the site works without flooding. If it is still difficult for you to join the register via the web, we remind you that the simplest and fastest way to register your number is by telephone, by calling the toll-free number 06 42986411 . After hearing the instructions of the recorded voice, just press key 1 and then hang up. Nothing easier.
