Rosatom sent nuclear fuel simulators to Turkey: to be tested in Akkuyu

Russian State Atomic Energy Agency Rosatom announced that nuclear fuel simulators have been shipped to Turkey for testing at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NGS).

Noting that the nuclear fuel simulators to be used for the first power unit of Akkuyu NPP have been dispatched for testing, Rosatom said in a statement today that “The fuel simulator, together with the control rod models for reactor control and protection, and the control of nuclear fuel, are produced at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrate Plant in Siberia. vehicles were sent to Turkey”.

HOW TO TEST?

Before the new power unit goes into operation, Rosatom announced that fuel simulators and control rods will be loaded into the reactor core and then unloaded to test the plant’s core systems.

He Stated That The Reactor Core Of The Rosatom  Generation 3+ power unit consists of 163 fuel groups with uranium fuel.

It is stated that the first nuclear fuel for the first power unit of Akkuyu NPP Is Planned To Be Sent In 2023.
