OECD: Inflation has been stable for 3 months

OECD announced that inflation in the region has followed a relatively more stable course in the last three months.

According to the report shared by OECD, annual inflation in the region, which was 10.2 percent in the previous month, rose to 10.3 percent in August. Prices had increased by 10.3 percent in June and 10.2 percent in July.

One-month headline inflation in the region declined in 16 of 38 OECD countries, driven by slower increases in energy prices. However, 15 OECD countries continued to record double-digit inflation in August, with the highest rates observed in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Turkey.

Core inflation, excluding food and energy , rose from 6.8 percent to 7.2 percent annually. The increase in energy prices was 30.2 percent on an annual basis. In the previous month, an increase of 35.3 percent was recorded in energy prices. Food price increase rose from 14.5 percent to 15.0 percent.
