Authorities announced that 13 people, including Mayor Abdullahi Ali Wafow and his advisers, lost their lives and 5 were injured as a result of a suicide attack in Marka city in the Lower Shabel region. Authorities also reported that 7 people were killed and 18 injured in the attack in the city of Afgooye in the Lower Shabel region.
It was stated that the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the bomb attack in the city of Marka.
On the other hand, it was announced that at least 2 people lost their lives and more than 15 people were injured as a result of the attack carried out when a bomb-laden vehicle crashed into a hotel with Somali politicians in the city of Jowhar, Somalia on 17 July. It was also reported that the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
