Powerbank explodes in a school in Milan: three in hospital

The common portable battery for charging smartphones overheated, causing the explosion. A very rare accident, but which can happen if the product is defective or of poor quality. Two of the students, both 15, were taken to hospital to ascertain possible intoxication. In total, the doctors visited eight other people, seven students and one teacher on site. Fortunately for them no further checks were needed.

If that were not enough, the stress caused by the accident and the evacuation of all the classes of the institute caused another student to become ill: a 17-year-old girl who suffers from epileptic diseases and had a severe anxiety crisis. Also for her the red code for an urgent check at San Raffaele .

We immediately threw open the windows to disperse the smoke. The guys were impressed by this power bank in a backpack from which smoke came out, now everything is under control

Luigi Costanzo, head of the hotel institute, told La Repubblica.
