The Tesla Cybertruck will arrive in 2023 “hopefully”. Word of Elon Musk

Elon Musk rekindles the hopes of fans. On the occasion of the last press conference dedicated to the financial results of the quarter just ended, the billionaire announced that production of the expected Tesla Cybertruck could start in the middle of next year.

Almost three years have passed since the presentation of the futuristic – and colossal – pick-up. The Tesla Cybertruck was originally supposed to go on sale in 2021, but its launch has been continually postponed. Tesla had to put his hand to the design of the vehicle several times: the prototype shown in 2019 had more than a few problems and certainly could not be approved in this way. And from 2021 we started talking about 2022. But then Covid-19 got in the way and between that and the inauguration of two Gigafactories (with a third one on the way), Cybetruck quickly fell on the priority list. by Tesla.

Thus comes a new (possible) date: the Tesla Cybetruck will arrive after the first half of 2023 . But even Elon Musk is not even sure of this date, so much so that by announcing it he misses a ” hopefully “. In short, if all goes well the date is that, then who knows.

At the time of its presentation, there was no such thing on the market. There was no other electric pickup with titanic proportions on the market. But in the meantime, things have changed and even this atypical segment of the market is rapidly saturating thanks to the offer of rival car manufacturers (and others). Ford has its F-150 Lightning , Rivian the R1S and General Motors its Hummer EV .

During the press conference, Elon Musk did not go into the details of the current design phase of the Cybertruck. We do not know if the car manufacturer has completed everything there was to be completed, or if on the contrary there are still some tasks to be carried out before being able to launch a homologable version of the electric off-road vehicle on the market.
