Apparently Cyberpunk 2077 will only have one expansion . This was indirectly confirmed by Adam Kiciński , the CEO of CD Projekt RED during the latest conference call on the company’s financial results.

The expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 will be the last project based on the RED Engine, all future productions will be made in Unreal Engine , “said Kicinski.

The CEO of the Polish company therefore stressed that the definitive transition to Unreal Engine 5  will be made with the fourth chapter of The Witcher , while the last project created with the proprietary Red Engine graphics engine will be the “expansion” of Cyberpunk 2077, the singular.

Kicinski’s words therefore seem to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will not receive further content in terms of story and missions once the DLC is released in 2023. Indication that perhaps the studio has decided to cut plans for any other previously planned DLC.

Originally, in fact, the game should have received two expansions, but it is quite evident that the problems related to the post-publication troubles, as well as the difficult situation of the development team could have led the team towards a revision of the post-launch plans.
